What is different about this game than a standard Mafia game?
Standard mafia, it doesn't really matter if people like you, only that people dislike someone else more.
Dating mafia, you have to build relationships with people to partner you each day.

Does town come into the game looking to build these relationships very intentionally from the get-go? Or is scum more concerned with making sure they have allies?

Has any other player in this game looked like they've been securing alliances with multiple players other than you?

I'd like to clarify that I didn't do my re-read last night looking to go after you. I was mostly just noting Lopen's wild ride and trying to get a sense of him. What I ended up feeling about you came with the context of seeing MULTIPLE attempts at bridge building that I didn't think really looked natural, and looked like there was intent behind it. That's the perspective I'm actually trying to look at.

Looks like red and lopen are my only two suitors left or I leave alone without finding love.

But yeah i felt that kirby's question and lopen's reasons to it all absolutely fluff. Excuses for them to not do anything except be mad.

Honestly I don't have much to talk about. Dumey tilting at Chris is just making my brain turn to mush.

Hm. I have to say yes. Scum already have an alliance. Building towncores is what I always do as town. Why is this any different from my typical towning of people?

It's not just that. It's the fact that it's the day with the most town alive to hook up with, so why pair up with yourselves early when you can keep that in your back pocket later days if you are suspected?

I mean, Dumey's explanation makes sense. Plus, the dude is obviously getting worked up, and Chris is naturally trying to keep peace. Whether he's being genuinely empathetic or doing it to keep up a faade as scum, that's up in the air. But "theatrics" ain't the word I'd use. If it's feigning kindness, it's not an obvious ruse to me.

Though honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to letting Dumey die today just so we can move on to a different conversation. Realistically speaking, with the knowledge of Dumey and Peaf being RL friends, I imagine Peaf is the perfect person to grill Dumey 1-on-1, which would be super helpful for D2.

I'd do Lopen or Kirby - clear communicators, fun vibes.

I'd do JC or Isquen - passive but would benefit from a one on one boosting their reads or taking the time to read them in depth, fun vibes.

Not to say that anyone outside of that 4 pack doesn't have fun vibes, many are taken or have other factors. Also, lists should be rule of three in the form of fuck/marry/kill tbh. It actually applies this game - would neighbour once, town lock, scum.

Right but how is me townreading people here different from when I normally townread people. I have not made a single serious date offer. I have not asked for anything in return. I have mostly talked and engaged with people who are suspicious of me.

My only question about Dumey's "plan" is when he came up with it. Because Peaf was the one who extended the invitation first, so if it was a trap for Peaf then I would have expected it to have been extended by Dumey. And the date was confirmed with:

I absolutely see some merit in trying to gauge if your date is just coasting or not, it just feels like a retcon with how the date got confirmed in the first place.

This is why I was comfortable accepting his date to "spite" lopen earlier, because I saw some actual value to seeing if it held up or not.

I like Dumey as town here actually

sounds like he had a plan he was excited about and Lopen's needling just ticked him off. Should have just ignored it but that's easier said than done sometimes

Lopen and I would be a good pairing in a sort of Spike/Buffy way, simply happy to find someone who won't break when you smash them through a wall and collapse a house

I can still see Dumey as either alignment here. Doing something inconsistent doesn't always translate to not-town, but I also agree that the last few pages have been rather dumey-focused so it could be worth spreading the love around a bit. Especially since at this time Dumey and Peaf are still locked into their date.

I think we should talk about/to corrik now that he's here and how amazing it is that he can't just show up and say "see you day 2" for once since he actually has to make a love connection first.

Amusingly Chris's possibly biggest scumtell I feel at the moment is I can't imagine a world where town Chris isn't trying to date me to weaponize me against the actual scum and trying to date ME so we can bounce some ideas off of each other and find the scum rather than trying to date people he thinks is scum

His whole idea of saying he's going to try and date people he suspects feels counter-intuitive to how you should play the game and moreover how Chris would want to play the game. Do I really believe Sir Chris is so keen on his abilities to interrogate people that he would burn the one mechanic we have to catch scum on neighboring people he suspects?

Absolutely not, but I think he thinks the board thinks he's egotistical enough to do that and is playing into that conception as an excuse to bus people while at the same time trying to leave a door open to date them.

I want someone who is going to support me through ups and downs. Someone who is going to be considerate and care about my wants and needs. I want someone to share a life with that actually wants me to be a part of their life too.
