Depends on what you're using it for.

Wont be that much longer itll probably be the standard recommendation. Nothing in my mind can ever be overkill when it comes to hardware like that.

I don't think there's much use to future proofing RAM. Having more memory than you need has no benefit. It's not like a cpu where more power always equates to faster loading.

With a top of the line computer, running the most demanding games. I only use about 15GB at the most. You don't need that much at all anymore.

Yeah, depends on your use case. Probably don't need that much, but it's not like RAM is that expensive currently. Might be nice to have if you want to do something RAM heavy with your computer in the future.

nah, I'd say it's probably more than most people would need but it's definitely not overkill.

I'll just say right now, I have Firefox opened with like 30 tabs that I use half of, an editing software, a recording software, and like Helldivers 2 on max setting, with about 10 background programs for other things and even more other processes, and I don't ever go past about 70% of maxing that out 64 GB you literally have to be purposely wasteful to use.
