I mean, for a Let's Play it's kinda gotta be a live stream. Those other options are for like...reviews, or tips and tricks, etc

I like the guided walkthroughs.

U Can Beat Video Games is one of my favorite channels to watch lately. Extremely informative.

Pure gameplay, from start to finish, doesnt need to be perfect runs.

Let's plays that are a detailed walkthrough, informative and like a guided tour of the game rolled into one are great.

Streams are terrible unless it's like a supercut of DSP falling all over the place and losing repeatedly.

SBFP style LPs were and will always be the best.

I only watch no commentary playthroughs. Fuck memes or funny skits

Achievement Hunter LPs pre-Trevor are the best style imo

As long as the editing is to add notes and funny lols, but no game play edits.

The key to me is I'm looking at let's plays onnnnnnly to see how they handled 1 specific part. Usually.

I dont want them removing what they consider boring. Because to me, that boring bit might matter to solving a puzzle or how they leveled up.

I certainly don't watch live let's plays.

Splattercat and other indie channels for long plays, since they tend to gravitate around the kind of games I like -- niche roguelikes, strategy titles, etc.

Reviewers like Gman, Mandalore, Mortismal etc for well... reviews.

Almost never watch LP's or streams or their highlight clips.

Depends on what kind of game it is. For survival/crafting games with little to no story or goals I prefer heavily edited content like Guns,Nerds & Steel or NeebsGaming where they try to present it more like an episode of a regular show on cable, right down to editing their voices when their characters are underwater or in a tunnel.

Currently watching Hidden Cup V on T90Official, a tournament featuring the best Age Of Empires II players but their actual names are hidden by assuming the persona of an historical figure. And that's the one thing where I actually watch 3-4 hour long videos with no editing at all.

This plus "NO Commentary". I'd rather hear the in-game audio and music over talking. I have made exceptions for niche games few people are playing.

Most of the gameplay I watch is people like Ryukahr and DGR playing troll levels on Mario Maker 2. They cut out a lot of the backtracking, but they show every time they die.

No commentary I figure is a missed opportunity.

I consider #2 the same as #1. I don't have time to watch people as they stream, I exclusively watch VODs where I can watch them at my leisure, often at 2X speed.
