damn i feel kinda bad now tbh
i just drank enough to get a bit buzzed to test the waters. wore off in half an hour.

im just gonna drink a bit more today so i can focus on something ive been holding off for like the past few months
keep getting panic attacks lately which is preventing me from focusing. once i accomplish this task i probably won't feel the urge to drink again

this is my honest thoughts rn.

Ive coming up on seven months with no alcohol and I honestly may never drink again. This is the healthiest Ive felt physically and mentally.

I'm around 6 myself. Feels good waking up. I hope to stay away from it myself.

Yup. Waking up not hungover is a top 5 feeling in the world for me.

I was drinking because it helped to curb my anxiety in the moment without realizing the reason for my severe anxiety was because I was drinking almost daily. Its almost nonexistent now.

I wish you well. Control is definitely possible with enough willpower and since you 100% stopped for 2 years I believe in you relegating it to a day or 2 a week.

I've unfortunately made it a habit when I get home from whatever deployment I go on and I dry up on the next deployment. I haven't went out the door in over 2 years now which is a long time for me so I need to dry out on my own.

No problem. I have to control my own vices and have gone from periods of heavily drinking daily to not drinking at all for awhile to drinking only on certain days and resisting/having no desire to for others.

Anybody saying you can't do it is just projecting their own weak-will and lack of willpower onto you, or that of someone they know.

I didnt drink January but then had a string of rough nights in February. I plan to stay sober until my vacation in April. I should probably just stay sober but I still cant imagine a vacation without drinking unfortunately. I have to change that.

thanks, man. my family has a history of alcoholism and dying in their 40s-60s because of it (i believe COVID was a major component of this in the past few years). I'm not nearly as bad as them though at least not atm. Just having this knowledge will prevent me from going overboard

This resonates with me. Even when i did drink frequently (daily for like 9 months of the year) id take a break during the summer lol.

what do you do to pass the time while drunk? ive been listening to a podcast atm instead of focusing on what i was trying to do initially lol

Oo what type of writing?

I kinda have to write too but for a resume so it aint literary. Trying to translate my experience in the military to a civilian job

bro this shit sucks for me. i feel like i have to delude myself into thinking my job was more important than it actually was. so that's why im drinking cuz it makes me feel more confident and delusional. at least for a little bit

im like crashing rn tho im gonna drink some more

also i forgot so much about my experiences tbh. if i had written this a few years earlier id have an easier time. fortunately found a pdf file that provides summary of the type of tasks i used to do lol! just need to include some tidbits specific to me. I feel like i got this overall ohh please god let me persevere!!
