Yeah my current job is sweet cause it's easy as fuck but I take little pride in it cause I'm not really doing anything.

My last job I took great pride in. Was hard at first but once established it was easy work but important work.

These days I usually ask people who say shit like that "if it's so easy to just say that and get everything handed to you, why haven't you done it?"

Yep.

I had to learn to embrace the grind because that's the only thing I could do to make money for a while but my job now is something that I'm actually passionate about (wildlife rescue) because I know it matters. I give it my all every day and I don't mind it like I did at other jobs.

What's really telling about this topic is that it is populated by grown adults, most being on here for 20+ years. You'd think it was teens or tweens or something grumbling about work and responsibility, but nope. Not very encouraging, from a societal standpoint. Well, best of luck with that staying at home forever thing, hope it works out for you...

i don't want to work, but i have to. i do find little joys during the day to make the day slightly brighter so it's not too bad.

back in the boomers days it almost made sense to do this as you could actually start in the mailroom and work your way up to being an exec. company loyalty was actually a thing before the 80s.

you can't do that anymore and also the job back then paid a lot more anyways
