But seriously, C&C Renegade online rules, and apparently still has a small group of players playing. Played for a bit. Still wonderful if a bit old.

An updated online game of this style is my dream.

Oh snap Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I loved this game. Civilization 2 in space. Whenever I try to play stuff like Stellaris I'm trying to recpature the feeling this game gave me. I'm doubtful even this game will be able to live up to its own hype in my mind but I'm goin for it.

Basically lol. The single player is fine, but the online is where it was at. It was NOD vs GDI, each team gets resources throughout the game, and you use the resources to purchase characters or vehicles. Destroying the refinery meant no more resources, destroying the power plant makes everything cost double. Destroying the Vehicle buildings meant no more vehicles, and destroying the Hand of Nod or Barracks meant no more characters outside of the basic standards solider types.

It's relatively balanced, some maps favor one side more than the other, but it's stupidly fun. You win the matches by destroying the other teams base, but you can also win by nuking the pedestal which is usually in the barracks or the Hand of Nod.

If anyone is interested you have to download a fanmade patch to keep playing online, but it's worth checking out even if a bit dated.

The mod in my sig is one that remade C&C Renegade into a FPS based on Red Alert 1. There's no single player campaign, but the online is even better than Renegade IMO, although there's even less player base these days. Renegade is still a lot of fun though.

Oh shit, I never knew of this. I'll have to check it out. I've also tried Renegade X for a bit, but it just wasn't the same.
