I don't know who that is nor why I found it so entertaining, I will say bravo to her for speaking English so clearly and with hardly any accent. The first time she switched from Japanese to English it threw me off and then she just kept switching back and forth.

You have a few of them nowadays who have learnt English at a young age like Rei Seimiya and Yuri Kitagawa.

So they have been raised at a young age abroad. There was even an Australian one in another idol group.

Edit: Still pretty rare for Japanese people to switch from English to Japanese like them. It's almost impossible for a Japanese person to be fluent in English when learning exclusively in Japan imo.

She mentioned she was an idol (which is not typical Western culture) and she started off speaking Japanese. That's called clues.

And you might be tempted to point out "her name is Sally", cool, Lalisa Monoban, the Indonesian k-pop idol member of Blackpink, just goes by "Lisa", and I could point out the members of Aespa such as Karina, so it's not uncommon for the idol industry to anglicize the name of their idols.

Like I said, you had a choice of how you could have responded and you chose differently from everyone else.

I'm a minority in "the homeland of the Nazis" who experiences the kind of sentiment you made everyday: "he has a foreign name and looks similar to the recent refugees; he can't possibly speak German well". I was born here and ethnically speaking I'm not even Syrian!
