Does anyone else hate puzzles because they serve as a reminder of how fucking stupid you are, or is that just me?

No I love word puzzles. I play wordle, squaredle, and waffle every day.

No, I like puzzles and words. In fact, I'm using words right now!

But you guys probably arent stupid, so you can get something out of puzzles besides self-abuse.

You can be less stupid by doing more puzzles, OR this type of game just isn't in your wheelhouse and there are other puzzles.

It's probably a lack of patience more than anything else.

Todays answer is pesky. You can put that in on your first guess to raise your self-esteem.

I feel this way when doing the Crossword. Some days I fly through it, but the past 2 weeks I could only complete like 2 of them.

I usually start with Ratio, Mends & Lucky

Believe me, I'm probably even worse in these puzzles.

I use the excuse that english isn't my first language, but at this point I'm afraid there is another reason too.

English is my first language. Puzzles like this just disprove the lie Ive been told all my life that I have good language skills and any sense of intelligence at all. But maybe I should keep doing them so I dont forget that.

Wordle is about practice and having a bank of words to try.

You do have the intelligence. You probably don't have the patience to work through the permutations

If you understand the general technique used to find words (using the words with the most frequently occuring letter and than isolating the position of them) it's just a matter of knowing words try.

For instance rates is a very good first guess word. A lot of words end in s (and it's one of the most common letters). R and t are among the most common consonants. And A and E are among the most common vowels.

For your next word try incorporating N, O, I, H, and/or L along with letters you confirmed the presence of before (if they were in the wrong position, try a new one for them). These are the most common letters, so by this point you should have some of the complete word established and it's just a matter of knowing potential words.

I don't even understand how to play wordle, that's how stupid I am

I love doing daily Wordle. Just did today's in 3. My stats:

I long ago moved on to Octordle.

I still do it once in a while. IIRC, best ever was 2 attempts, but I used to manage 3-4 guesses on average.

I like the challenge of Sudoku better though, and never miss a day.

the toughest one for me is the uhh crossword one. i barely know any of the references. i feel like i've been living under a rock with that one and i don't think ive ever completed one without googling stuff lol.

connections is tough for me too but i can at least solve those sometimes. tho i did fail today

I have a much harder time with Connections. Probably only passed 3 or 4 out of 8 or so I tried.

Or just be less self-deprecating because you trick yourself into believing it. Most people can't complete every puzzle they attempt. It's normal.
