I played it for the first time on its 6th anniversary.

I had played Oblivion, just never got around to Skyrim for a good while.

I played it in 2014 on PS3. I put a good amount of time on it, but eventually sold it since it got buggy. However, I tried to play it on PS4 and it had the same bugs and worse that the PS3 version had.

I wanna 100% Oblivion first, which will probably never happen.

December 2011

I actually had no idea what Skyrim was until I started seeing and hearing about it all over the place right after it came out. Im lucky in that way because I didnt have to suffer the anticipation leading up to release lol but I watched a lets play on YT and was sold by the time the guy got to Riverwood. Went and bought it that night and was hooked for months.

I think that was the first game I bought on Steam when I built my first computer, so it had to be early 2012

I've never played a single elder scrolls game. I don't think I ever will.

Maybe a couple years ago? It was free so I tried it and spent like 10 minutes on it.

PS3 launch.

When the water glitch hit, I had to shelve it until the next update.

PS3 in 2012 after renting it from Red Box. It froze on the opening scene and I didn't bother to try again.

Finally got hooked after getting it on Switch in 2019.

The anticipation was a big deal because they announced it like 6 months before it came out instead of years early like usual

I swear, they leave so much damn money on the table with this shit.

Me on announcement day: Hey, that looks good!
Me after one year: Any update?
Me after three years: *thinking about other stuff*
Me on release day: *oblivious*
Me eight years after release: Oh, did that come out?

Pre-ordered the original PC release, and first played it a couple days after launch. Even got the collector's edition, with the artbook, the making-of DVD, and the statue of Alduin.

I always wait a few years when it comes to stuff like Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Witcher and so on. I let all the bugs get worked out, most of them anyway, all DLC come, and any expansion.

I ended up waiting longer than normal with Skyrim because I got it on newer hardware and waited for the remastered special edition I knew was coming. I didnt end up playing it until 2018. So it had been out 7 years already. It was outstanding.

Im patient and willing to wait on games. Im super excited about Dragons Dogma 2 but Ill wait a few years on that too.
