RVD actually got injured before becoming the face of ECW ironically Jerry Lynn was the ECW World champion before RVD. But RVD was just as over as Sabu/Taz/Sandman within his first year. But Heyman the freaking genius he is booked RVD as the premier midcarder/show opener for years before moving him to the main event.
