I don't think that's Persona 6.

In fact it looks like it has action Rpg combat, which I personally don't mind, but if true, I imagine Persona fans ain't happy about it

Its turn based, made by the persona devs, and has all the core persona mechanics like a calendar system, social links, social skills, etc
they just changed the names of some systems and its not based in high school this time

Nah it's more Shin Megami Tensei than Persona imo.
They split off as separate series after 3

Persona has sort of jumped the shark to me by having too many spinoffs, rereleases, etc. It has really cheapened the brand IMO. Final Fantasy didnt start feeling that way to me until much later than VII.

I havent played an SMT game before but I thought its basically just a dungeon crawler or standard RPG but with the SMT mechanics. ReFantazio is basically just a rebranded persona from what I can see. It has stuff like the daily life sim and social links. Copy my homework and change it a little but they are copying their own homework

SMT is generally more punishing for the press turn system, Nocturne/SMT IV & V being more trial and error for combat & with less revealing of weaknesses for stuff. Then standard quests revolving around factions in the game & multiple endings based on alignment.

I think Refantazio is gonna be like what FE# was years ago with fire emblem characters being the personas, but then still having some of the persona flair and the SMT weakness systems. But if you say it has the social link & calendar systems then yeah I guess it's more Persona-like, I've only watched one trailer from months ago for it

they even have archetypes which lay dormant in their heart which they use igniters to awaken and use in combat. We will learn more as it gets closer but that seems fairly on the nose to me

I think the main difference other than theme/setting between a persona game and this is that they are adding like a class system or something? There is the action combat as well but you see them in turn based boss fights as well so I dunno

Seems to me the class system is replacing the demon collecting system

Idk how you could see anything more than the first trailer and still think it's closer to SMT than Persona

I did say I only saw the first trailer lol. So sounds like I need to look up more details
