All this stuff in relation to the NY civil fraud trial is *exactly* why companies will typically do compliance audits either internally or they'll pay a 3rd party company to review their stuff. It's cheaper to follow the law than it is to suddenly have to come up with ~$460 million and be forced by a court order to install an independent compliance monitor and report things to a court-appointed financial monitor.
