I couldn't even get a real sense of a story at all until like halfway through. Martin Scorsese is brilliant, though. The narrative, the flow of the movie itself, the music, the acting, its all fantastic. There's so many quoteable scenes in that movie. The scene where Jimmy is trying to give those dresses away and you realize that there are signs that are warning the viewer that Karen was going to die if she went into that warehouse. Its all great. I watched this movie when I was a kid and I usually didn't get into dramas but this one pulled me in. The beginning was the best part.
