"Average nuzlocke catches 5 Magikarp" factoid actually just statistical error. Karps MZero, who has 100000 Magikarp, is outlier and should not have been counted

Jupiter beated! That Skuntank was very scary and we nearly lost Ermy to a critical Night Slash, but just barely managed to escape unscathed. At one point I decided I had to sacrifice Kenri for the good of the team, but it just used Smokescreen and spared him, so I guess it was his lucky day.

and yeah, definitely using Species Clause in future runs lol

Let's go! Still not a strong mon but at least now I'm not the one with the lowest BST despite the Magikarp.

In Heart Gold I caught a Koffing in the Burned Tower and named it Cody. I also caught a Raticate on Route 39, which I named Kirby Jr. In Platinum I caught a Machop on Route 206 and named him Shattered. Mr. Coronet was a Geodude, which I don't need so I didn't catch it. Route 208 was a Budew, which I caught and named Rose (yes I'm very creative thanks for noticing).

Ana finally evolved into Gyarados and learned Bite, which made Fantina a bit of a cakewalk. Ana kept getting put to sleep, confused, and even burned at one point, which made it annoying but it was definitely the easiest badge so far. With three badges in hand, I can buy Great Balls at the Mart so I decided to hit the Wayward Cave and hope for a Gible. Unfortunately, it was a Zubat. Oh well.

Back to Heart Gold to beat up another Ghost gym leader

We need some positivity in the thread, so here's some good news! I went to Route 43 to catch a Pokemon and got a Flaaffy. Not only is Ampharos a strong mon for our Platinum squad, but I finally get to use a name I've been holding onto for awhile. Say hello to Sheep the Impish Flaaffy. The nature is unfortunate, but we have 30 IVs in Special Attack and very low Defense, so it'll work!

Ooh Flaaffy is a nice pull.

I'm also surprised Koffing hasn't been swapped in yet. It's a solid Pokemon, especially once it evolves!

Caught a Gastly in the Lost Tower. I've decided that this is the Ghost of Lea the Rash Geodude. It looks like death changed her though, because now she's Naughty

Hell yeah, caught a Kadabra on Route 215. That's an auto Alakazam once I trade it over to Heart Gold! Being able to use these darn trade evolutions for once is exciting.

I think I got everyone who's posted in here so far, so I named it Dedede. ifykyk

Being slain by a Cherrim as a Quilava is kinda humiliating ngl.

to be fair you would have rolled the gym if not for the obedience level cap

speaking of which I'm at the Veilstone Gym and I think I can take Maylene, but the problem is getting to her without Ermy and Ana hitting the Level 30 cap, as they're both at Level 28 already

I took down Maylene without much trouble, although we did lose Cody in the process :/ with 4 badges, the level cap is now 50 and shouldn't really be a factor for the rest of the run.

I also took down Chuck in Heart Gold. Dedede the Alakazam rolled through the entire gym, all the way to getting his Poliwrath to pixel life before getting OHKO'd by a critical Body Slam. Chuck got literally one attack off and it was a crit. I hate everything. How is my luck so bad.

On the way to Cianwood I caught a Tentacruel, which should be helpful cause it's pretty bulky. I named it 5nake because Snake5555555 had the top topic on the board when I caught it. I also got the Shuckle, which is apparently named Nessie.

Oh yeah, I glossed over what happened there. Basically I was switching Gyarados in and out to stack intimidates and figured Cody could take a hit and also get some EXP to make sure I didn't get overleveled. Of course, it was a crit and a OHKO.

I don't know if this is actually true but I remember the difficulty feeling incredibly fucked in HGSS. Like if you're rolling a gym too easily they'll start getting tons of crits while you'll miss 5 times in a row on an 80% chance to hit. So I'm not surprised Alakazam didn't last :/

Yeah, that's the problem with Alakazam in Nuzlockes. Its paper thin defenses mean you're risking death on anything it doesn't OHKO, since a crit anything probably kills it.

Caught a Houndour on Route 214 and named it Knight, whoo

I haven't been able to play as much recently but should be getting back into the swing of things

Beat Crasher Wake, but unfortunately had to sacrifice Wally the Sudowoodo. RIP Wally you served me well
