Pretty big fan of Danganronpa, was interested in this game when it was announced but never really picked it up. I remember thinking the little ghost friend from the trailers was kind of annoying but if the rest of the game is good enough I could find some way to deal with it.

Of course I'm not going to go into it expecting it to be like Danganronpa but I did get the vibe from the trailers that it would still be something I enjoy playing, but did the full game actually hold up well?

Imo not good, they should've just made another danganronpa, didn't hook me in as much as DR did, quit after the first case and haven't really picked it back up

And when you think about it, solving the cases in it doesn't help technically since they don't help out with the current situations you find yourself in

Its great I really like the ideas but it was glaringly obvious who and why something happened on some cases but I still had fun and the dialogue is great Halara fubuki and shinigami are cool characters

Rain Code was fine. A welcome change of pace from Danganronpa, which always felt to me as if unlikable characters were screaming at me nonstop for dozens of hours. It needed more focus though, as the game offers up quite a few interesting mechanics that all felt under-utilized and sort of half-baked in presentation. Not a bad game, but it wont be replacing the Danganronpa series any time soon.
