Same. I think I'm learning that I just have different tastes from B8, because there were five animes at the start of this contest that I've watched and liked, and three of those five are out, while the other two are the ones I've managed to save every round.

How many have you seen total, out of curiosity? I've seen 28 of the shows that were in at the start, and exactly half I consider above average and would be okay saving.

It always seems crazy to me that I've watched almost 400 anime and that barely amounts to half the shows that make it into this contest, lol

Maybe everyone will watch Dark Gathering and we'll get a truly recent champion. It could happen!

Ftr, Code Geass is a favorite of mine and would be a high priority for me, like Top 3.

Of course so was One Piece, but I missed that round.

OddTaxi did make it all the way to finals and Frieren's been much better received.
Though OLM did have a hand in making The Apothecary Diaries.

For older shows that had a big moment but didn't win, I'll guess on uuuuh, Madoka, TTGL or DBZ.
Looks like I've only seen 32 shows from what made the field.

I'm guessing The Dangers in my Heart and 7th Time Loop might be up my alley though.

How strong was Spy x Family last year?

I would expect it to be strong. I haven't been saving it because I assume it is, maybe I shouldn't make that assumption.

Last year it made 19th, sounds like a show I'd send some saves to before dropping once I had to fully focus on my priority, but my secondary was Darling Dress Up, so maybe I didn't provide much support.

I'm all in on Frieren once it gets past one save rounds

I'll likely go all in on whichever of Yona or Spy X Family survives.

Like voltch said, but it was funny because it was like 4th or 5th priority for a bunch of us and kept sneaking by. But I think it doesnt help with Oshi no Ko and Frieren added to the mix, and Kaiji and Monster returning also bumps it down my queue so that doesnt help...

Good to know there's another Code Geass fan out there. Maybe next year!

My priorities would be Spy Fam and Place Further Than Universe and Monogatari but seems voltch has that last one covered

I don't think this contest is especially indicative of board 8's taste. I mean the stuff that makes it far is usually well-liked, but I feel like basically anything can randomly drop in the early rounds for one reason or another.

I'm not always consistent with what I save year after year.

Sometimes I just save whatever I feel like in the moment, like Sonic X in this case.
