Its not *too* bad. But it's annoying. Basically what I do is make a B line to find the 5 kids. Get the moon tear and do the trade. Then dance with the scarecrow in the observatory to skip right to the end

Why? I'm pretty sure you can get the Scrub Helicopter Heart Piece on the first playthrough. Might as well grab them. I often don't get to do everything I want to in those first days. Time moves faster then on a normal playthrough to boot
