Jonathan Majors has been sentenced to probation after he was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, British choreographer Grace Jabbari.

The US actor, dropped by Marvel after his conviction, must now complete a 52-week domestic violence intervention programme.

He avoided up to a year in jail after being convicted of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment last year.

Majors must also continue with mental health therapy, the judge ruled.
Justice Michael Gaffey of the state Supreme Court in Manhattan sentenced Majors to conditional discharge after noting that both sides in the case agreed the charges did not warrant jail time.

Many actors have come back from much worse. RDJ springs to mind. I still like Jang and hope Majors returns.

even if he's given a second chance, as an actor, I feel like this is too recent for him to get any major roles for a while.

i can't remember what rdj did. drugs issues i remember, but just a vague idea that he abused drugs.

did rdj do anything to other people? an addiction can lead to abuse but did it? majors abused others.

I doubt the MCU will take him back just because he avoided jail. It's Disney, he needs them far more than they need him.

He had those issues resolved before entering the MCU. Major's happened while already in the MCU.

Even setting aside you comparing drug abuse to domestic assault, the situations still aren't comparable.

I looked up RDJ on wiki, and with him having substance problems, he never really had a chance until he was older:

His father allowed him to use drugs at a young age; he said that he gave Downey marijuana for the first time at age six, and that Downey also "might have had a little coke" as a child.

I highly doubt he's ever going to be back in the MCU. He might eventually be able to make a comeback as an actor but if it happens at all it won't be for a long time.

Not happening, with how protective Disney is of their brand I doubt they would want a woman beater in their movies as that would be a PR nightmare to handle. Plus, there's an in universe way to explain the actor away, just get a different "variant" of Kang as the new big bad.

It came to a head when he wandered into and fell asleep in a neighbors house. He didnt hurt anyone but was charged with trespassing.

But it took years for his career to recover from that. That incident happened in 1996. His career started recovery with Iron Man in 2008.
