Your prices aren't cheap, your roads suck and flood in the tiniest bit of rain, i can't get good cell service in most places and my nose hates you.

I've only been to Austin but I was unimpressed

And it sounds like that was the "good" part of Texas

I'm usually for most Texas slander, but I won't take road slander. The roads are way better than most any other southern state's roads.

I dont have any comparison here.

But like an hour of rain wiped out the left and right lane on several freeways.

I would totally believe Texas has both better surface streets and worse interstates than most places.

The main problem with TX roads, especially in DFW, is that they're permanently under construction and the drivers suck (unregistered cars with fake paper plates are endemic here, sadly). And also that they're necessary to get anywhere because the public transit sucks by design.

The roads themselves are fine and of good quality relative to elsewhere though.

Yeah driving in actually city part of Dallas was a nightmare of road construction impeding getting to where we were trying to go.

My parents live in the suburbs of Houston and... it's fine. Would never live out there now because I love my ATL but maybe retire there.

It was awfully wet.

The barbecue was good and you could get steaks everywhere (pricey)

I missed everything about LA but the traffic.

I didn't visit but the Six Flags made me just want to go to the superior Magic Mountain.

I thought Austin had a lot of good places to eat but I basically only search for gluten friendly which probably gives me a totally different set of stuff than most people get when looking for places to eat

Both the BBQ and Tex-Mex in Austin is very good

Especially Valentina's, which is both

I don't have any issues with Austin food-wise

Austin was meh and Houston's traffic was just as bad as anything I've ever seen in California. In fact, both of those places just seemed like California but without the good stuff.

I thought the best parts were smaller cites, towns, and rural areas.
Also, Fort Worth/Arlington and El Paso were nice. Never made it to San Antonio or southern Texas.

The food was good literally everywhere.

The highways were bad east of Houston but they all become nicer the more west you go.
