You know you've made it as a game when 'American dad' has a whole episode featuring it.

Gameloft's modern sucessor looks great but it rarely gets a good sale that drops it below 15 bucks (the sweet spot for me).

I still remember playing this in the early 80s at school in the library on one of the computers that only had monochrome monitors and everything was green. Good memories.

I only played the DSiWare version, but I liked the game.

Yep! It wasn't the library, though. We had a computer class at my elementary school where we learned how to type and use computers, and The Oregon Trail was one of the ways we learned

Unless I broke it up over the course of several days, I doubt if I'd ever watch a feature-length documentary on Oregon Trail.

I have watched his video about the awful 1993 Mario movie at least three or four times though.

I remember that but that wasnt until later on in the 80s.

Tagging for later. Oregon Trail is one of the OG video games. The original version of the game is even older than Pong.

Those kids were lucky then.

I literally didn't know about The Oregon trail until I played a zombie offshoot on the Vita called 'Organ trail'. That is also why bargain indie games will always be necessary. As I said in my previous post, I know about Gameloft's remake (it is on sale for Xbox), and because of that one, I have no reason to dig up the original.

It was brief, but I like that they brought up that Prince was one of the first kids to have played it.

He really gave 110% in regards to the personal interviews he did, as opposed to just doing them virtually.

That was a really good documentary. Also very fortunate the original creators are still around despite the game being among the oldest in existence.
