Youtube is pissing off more than it has in a very very very long time tonight, and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this, and knows how to stop this.

All I did was type in the name of a video game, (and no, It doesn't have a gross sounding title) the third video down the list(in other words, I'm not even to the Viewers also watched part.) shows a thumbnail of what is clearly a video made to piss people off with a thumbnail of someones that's severely disfigured with millions of views. The next video below it (again we're still not down to the viewers also watched part) is from a video game that has an extremely realistic looking person who is also severely disfigured.

This is beyond disturbing, does anyone know how to stop this from appearing?

Constantly getting Asmongolds super gross videos in my feed is bad enough(someone that I'd never watch) this is so much worse!

Just so you know, you can't tell youtube to not show you what shows up when you're searching for things like you can with videos that are "related" what you're currently watching, or on the homepage, so that's not an option.

what's the search terms you're searching for? I would guess the name is somehow associated with the stuff you're finding in some kind of indirect way, but I'd be interested to see if I/others get the same thing.

It's been odd for the last few years, Google and Facebook have seemingly discovered that it's actually profitable to cater to extreme fringe groups. Their algorithms have learned and responded to that. I'm not surprised that they're actively platforming and advertising gore content now, given that the have encouraged the spread of racism and misinformation (particularly political and medical misinformation) for at least half a decade.

They've both grown so colossal as companies that both consumers and advertisers are unable to take their business elsewhere, so instead they just ignore or put up with it.

There probably is a narrow connection between the name of the game you're searching up and some key terms used in these extreme videos. Your best hope is to report the videos but I wouldn't get my hopes up that anything will change.

For more popular sites, devs have stepped up and made extensions that can improve your experience on said sites. In this case I found one called Blocktube. You can add title and/or channel names to the Filter Options screen and they should not show in results or anywhere else after saving/closing the Filter tab.

block anything you see that you don't like.

Oh yea, still get those from time to time.

The ones that surprise me the most are the Joe Rogan Experience clips. Like Youtube REALLY wants me to watch a JRE clip despite the fact I haven't clicked on one ever.

It's because you clicked on something. If you click and watch something but more importantly like it, dislike it, or comment you'll get more of it.

If you want to stop getting specific things the only option you have is to hit the 3 dots and click don't recommend channel or perhaps not interested, but I've never tried that one I just go with don't recommend channel until it clears out all the stuff I don't like but foolishly engaged with.

Just keep scrolling and dont pay it too much mind.

I really wish that I could do that with search results.

Haven't noticed anything with search results. However the layout keeps changing and the display of playlists hasn't been working.
