This is one of those things. It reminds me of how you see the store with a sign in the window saying "no underwear showing, pull your pants up!" because you know it's a problem lol they've been catching people lying about having disabilities and that's pathetic. I would love to have seen someone get caught doing that. Kind of like when somebody gets caught wearing a military uniform who isn't military, and they get rightfully shredded for it.

How do they determine who is disabled? That should be determined by a doctor, not an over-worked minimum wage employee. Certainly they should at least ask for paperwork.

This reminds me of the guy with a disability who was beaten up for taking a handicapped parking spot. The guy who beat him up thought he was faking it after the victim stood up out of his wheelchair. The victim had a respiratory problem that made it difficult to walk a few steps without getting badly winded which was why his doctor provided a wheelchair.

I can't find this. I can only find one about a guy being assaulted because somebody else took the handicapped spot,

It's been a long time, so I admit I could be misremembering. I just remember the guy who beat him up was arrested by the cops.

They wouldn't have to do this if there weren't a significant number of people faking disabilities to skip the line. I mean this is obviously a move that will lose them money via ticket sales, there's no way they would do it if this wasn't a legit problem
At least the lines will be shorter. Hopefully.

  • We are teaming with Inspire Health Alliances health professionals, to help our Cast Members, as needed, determine eligibility for appropriate accommodations and ensure that these accommodations are provided only for the guests for whom they are intended.
  • We will be making efforts to preserve the Disability Access Service (DAS) for those its intended to accommodate only those guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time. To help with this, we are also extending DAS enrollment for eligible guests from 60 days to 120 days and adjusting DAS party size to include no more than four, except for immediate family members.
