I was a little disheartened in the winter after getting this camera, but snow and sloggy grass patches do not turn up well when you shoot with infrared. These things turn some shade of pink but it doesn't look otherworldly or even pleasant. But now that the grass is a vibrant green things are looking good.

And I figured I would see what happens when I switch the red and blue channels, it looks like it's a fairly normal sunny yet snowy day almost. Kinda neat.

I am excited to see what else I can do but first results in good weather with decent foliage turned out pretty good.

The first would definitely make for exotic fantasy scenery, especially if the colors remained as they are throughout day and night.

It's neat we're talking about which fantasy land we'd prefer to live in because what drew me to this style of photography is how things look really otherworldly. a simple google search for infrared photography will yield a lot of results, many that look way crazier with the colors than these here.

I am not even sure how a lot of these looks are achieved unless its a decent amount of PS or lightroom work. My experiences with a camera with an IR filter and now a camera that only shoots in infrared are kinda trial and error, and unless I convert the reds to blues and blues to reds I generally don't do any other work after the fact.

This one kinda looks neat. I would probably quite enjoy living in this one. I took it out of my front yard and I like how the mess of power lines cuts through a sea of dark pink

Earth wasn't a very unusual planetlots of green sand and purple vegetation. Either the master star chart was wrong or the gravity meter was off; the former, strangely enough, gave Earth's gravity as 1.000000 and the latter as 0.8952, a whopping ten percent discrepancy. Further, the principal inert gas in Earth's atmosphere was, according to the master chart's planetary supplement, nitrogen; and according to the ship's instruments was indubitably neon. A terrific aurora polaris display constantly flickering in the northern sky bore that out.

But the gap between the chart and the facts didn't particularly worry Ross as they swung along overland. So the chart was off, or perhaps things had changed.
