The jobs I had wouldn't fire you if you were late like once or twice. But you would get in trouble if you were late more than a certain amount of times and that could eventually result in getting fired.

Honestly, it's insane to me that people protest and our government always takes a "meh" approach.

The Chicago Airport protest got 50 arrested and several people pissed off on the news about missing their flights. I think one dude joked about missing his flight in a "oh well I got time and money" way while everyone else didnt wanna be on camera cause of their current mood and flight situation.

Poor Golden Gate Bridge. First it was Caesar and his ape army, then it was Godzilla, followed by a battle between Terminators, and now protestors? That bridge never gets a break

This is why they're revoking out rights to protest.

"Protest" working as intended! All the cancer patients and doctors to treat them sounding off in the comments sure do appreciate your efforts!

https://reason.com/2022/07/06/blocking-a-highway-is-not-a-legitimate-or-effective-form-of-protest/

The typical reply is that protests aren't meant to be convenient. That's true. And the father of civil disobedienceMartin Luther King, Jr.did it too, right?

Except no, not really. Though King did lead a protest from Selma to Montgomery, famously filling the Edmund Pettus Bridge, it was a march. It did not block interstate and highway traffic indefinitely for the sake of ita tactic King was not comfortable with, despite pressure in the 1960s to get on board. "Even though King didn't come out and criticize it in public, in private he thought it was a misguided tactic," said Brandon Terry, assistant professor of African and African American Studies and Social Studies at Harvard University. "The NAACP thought it was ridiculous." King reportedly posited that such a move pushed the boundaries of acceptable demonstrations and would come back to bite the movement politically.

I wonder how much pollution all of this caused? I wonder if any new parolees got fucked over by these road/bridge blockings? How many cancr patients missed critical appointments?
It's fascinating how the left will gleefully throw literally every other cause they care about under the bus, if they can get some publicity virtue signaling for Palestine.

virtue signaling

Oh fuck off with that

There is a genocide occurring that our government has been supporting because of the political power of Zionist lobbying groups and NGOs

Demanding an end to the support of genocide through loud and disruptive actions like this are not "virtue signalling"

If you can paint your opposition as someone who would oppose the civil rights movement, why they must be horrible people, and you're just that more morally correct in your position.

The people protesting are protesting genocide.

That's... a pretty unimpeachable moral position to hold.

Well I was against the genocide but now that some protestors made me late for work I'm gonna have to change my mind.

If that person even exists then their support probably wasn't real anyway

So he's okay with us taking matters into our own hands the next time Freedom Convoy truckers, pro-life marchers, or Trump supporters obstruct traffic? Or does this, like everything else, only apply to people he doesn't like?

You'd think so, from a normal person. But Republicans are required to be rank hypocrites.

Why not bother the government instead of innocents? They don't make the decisions about this. Blocking highways while people in Congress use private jets is ineffective.

If you can get a whole populace aware of an issue, they will all call in to their legislators.

Even if it's just, "These people won't leave the road. Fix the Palestine thing and make them go away!" is still one more call than they would have if it was just the protesters.
