the stick figure art is such a copout. so much of humor comes from expression, and you don't have any visible emotion in these blank circles. he could at least try faces, but no; he may as well just type these out with no art at all, because it'd be just as flat and boring, with even less of the work (which is apparently what matters most)

He did have a few really early on with facial expressions.

Lol that's what I love about this comic! 2nd panel I was grinning, 3rd panel I gave a sensible chuckle, but in the 4th panel I just started cracking up like crazy!

I'm a big fan of the show and I'd say the general gist is this:

0-10 - wtf am I even watching?
10-30 - ah ok there's a plot, kinda
30-60 ok I'm starting to dig these characters
60-140 - what is even going on
140- 300 - ok this got quite political and deep all of a sudden
300- 500 - this is the greatest show of all time
600+ ok it literally doesnt matter anymore because I'm never quitting

xkcd is one of those things that either works for you or doesn't.

It's more like an observational comic that might make you chuckle sometimes that a comedy comic.

There's very rarely any continuity, so you can pick up wherever. The only explicit continuity that comes to mind is when the black hat guy (of all people, lol) fell in love.

Though sometimes the alt text makes reference to earlier comics.

One Piece the manga has like two chapters of Luffy growing up then is immediately good when he punches out that captain lady. How slow paced is the anime?
