I'm not here to defend Fandom's choices, but the alternative is what, the entire mod staff quitting at once (unlikely even with an unpopular policy being introduced) and Fandom either deciding they can't run the boards anymore or just wholesale replacing the mods with either Fandom employees or other users who just got tossed into the mod system with zero training from the existing mod staff. Also I don't really view anything I do for this site as 'work'. Edit: Also I am very glad to see the statement made against transphobia too.
