Nah surely your device has rapid charge? It takes about 20 mins to an hour to go from 0 - 100. Just plug it in shortly before bed then unplug it when you go to sleep. But if you know you're gonna be awake at 2am then yea go for it I guess?

Yea it's quick charge. I'll start doing that. Hell I keep a charger at work if need be.

I learned just to never run your phone down lower than say 10 percent. The rapid charging overheats the battery and ruins its effectiveness. I paid like less than a hundred for this phone or was that the last one. I don't care about phones. I just want something to play music and access the internet so my range is generally $125 or less.

My current phone was incentive to switch carriers so it didn't cost me anything.

If my job didnt require progress and completion pictures of projects I would never have bought a smart phone. Battery does not hold a charge well anymore, it drains pretty rapidly even when not in use and with all power saving strategies applied. When its dead, Im not buying another.
