Kanye hasn't made a good album since 808s & Heartbreak

I wouldn't go that far, but I will say that My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has not held up as a "masterpiece". I listened again recently and thought a lot of it was pretty mid

oof i love Yeezus lol. Bound 2, guilt trip, blood on the leaves, and on sight are all so good
Bound 2 is an absolutely amazing song.

Blkkk Skkknhead is good, New Slaves is alright too.

Aside from that, the rest of the album is just a bunch of skips imo

AC/DC is the greatest pure rock and roll band that has ever existed on this planet. Both Bon and Brian eras. Not Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Queen, etc etc.

Most male pop singers are singing too high.

This. Most modern pop by male singers is unbearable. Female pop singers, in general, are on fire the last few years, though.

"indie" rock is as generic as radio rock. They're figuratively just a more shuffled deck of cards.

The Rolling Stones have a handful of great songs, but no great albums.

Led Zeppelin have nothing but great albums. Every decision they made as a band, including ending it, was the right one.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

There are RS albums I like, but even their best albums contain a lot of chaff (of the ones you named, Exile is the guiltiest). I'll put on Sticky Fingers and I'm inevitably drawn to skip around for my favorites.

Zeppelin's albums contain comparatively little chaff, imo. I'll put on Presence (probably the album of theirs that comes to mind least often) and I'm good - it can just play and no song beckons me to hit "next."

RS: mediocre-to-good albums, handful of great songs

LZ: great albums, handful of mediocre-to-good songs

Fair.

Zeppelin consciously styled themselves as an 'albums' band. They never released a single in the UK.

The Stones were from an era where hit singles were the measure of a band.

That album got insane amounts of hype at the time that it didn't deserve. The music is very basic, Julian's voice isn't great, and the songs aren't particularly catchy. "Last Night" was the most popular single because its one of the few good songs on that record
Guitar-based music was in a really, really shitty place at the turn of the century, so people jumped on The Strokes and The White Stripes and proclaimed them saviours of rock.

(The best guitar album from that year is Any Other City by Life Without Buildings, but what can you do?).

I was going to counter with the hate on country, but the tone is consistently different in how people express disdain for one genre vs the other.

I'll do it just cuz, but country music is terrible. There are definitely songs that are better / worse, it's not all the same level, but it's all bad and I'd be entirely okay w/ never hearing it again.

There's really no other type of music I can say that about.

MANIA is the best post-hiatus Fall Out Boy album

Hail to the Thief is, like, the second best Radiohead album

Taylor Swift is a generally fine listen even if I don't adore her but Midnights kinda blows

Nickelback is fine if you just listen to the singles. Not amazing but fine. Having listened to all the records, it feels like it ends up being lukewarm grungy sludge oatmeal being poured into my ears. I'm not saying every Nickleback song ever sounds like that but Nickleback are not a hidden gem by any means

Also 90% of Twenty One Pilots music blows

Yeah, they're one of the biggest examples I can think of recently of that CAN BE really good, but just usually aren't.
