Fuck, so annoying. It turns on, but won't spin. I need to get a repair person out.

In the meantime, I have like 4 loads of laundry to do that I can't dry. Don't want to spend my weekend at the laundromat

Laundromats are actually great for stuff like this cause you can take up like 5 machines and dry everything at once while you play a Switch or something

We have a dryer at work (which is like two minutes away), but it's a single load model

Sounds like one of the rollers came out of their sockets. Should be an easy, cheap fix. You'll have to be mentally prepared in spending a half hour (or two hours if you're inexperienced) in repairing it if you don't want to shell out hundreds in service repair fees.

I've fixed them before when they go out my parent's home, and rent houses.

That, and it will give you a chance to clean any build-up dust that accumulated over the years. Watch out for spiders or bugs.

It doesn't even sound like the motor is engaging. I'm wondering if a capacitor or other part that kick-starts the motor has burned out

Then that could mean that the belt itself could've snapped in two, or (best case scenario just popped out of place).

I'd tell you to manually spin the wheel to see if it's easy to turn indicating that its snapped or to turn on the dryer and press down on the safety latch while the door is open, but I don't need to be the reason for any unfortunate events. <_<

Yeah, best leave it alone and air-dry your clothes for now if you don't feel like disassembling that machine this late at night. Lol

It's a direct-drive motor (no belt).

If you live in a humid area, I highly recommend either biting the bullet and going to the laundromat right away or putting your clothing that you cannot dry into the freezer.

If you leave your laundry sitting around damp for several days, you risk mold that you won't be able to get out of your clothing.

Luckily I have no wet laundry (we discovered it broke before running a new load). I'm doing a couple of loads this morning and will dry them at work
