Like I can't imagine the internet getting any better and it's already in a shit state. What's going to happen when the prospect of using the internet just becomes tedious and not fun, even for the average idiot? What if literally everything becomes monetized to the point where people can't afford to do what they used to?

People get addicted to things being shitty? Like, the Internet wasn't exactly ever good, it was just the kind of garbage that resonated with kids at the time.

I mostly have the Internet for downloading games and patches. I spend a fair amount of time goofing off on gamefaqs. Outside of that Ill check sports scores on ESPN and use a little YouTube. Thats pretty much the extent of my Internet usage.
Someday when the gamefaqs message boards close down Ill barely be on the Internet. But I was never that enthralled with the Internet. I grew up without it. I dont own nor have ever owned a cellphone. I dont crave that connectivity many people do. I don't need access at my fingertips. People still get on the internet in China. Let that sink in, and imagine its being pronounced as Chynuh if it helps. Im remembering an allegory about keeping elephants docile in captivity, and the secret was just building a cage large enough that they never realized they were captured. Thats the internet, and the size has been slowly shrinking since little Bush. But the content has been growing, which can probably be worked into that allegory somehow, but eh, I lost interest with this post two sentences ago.
