Yeah, if it's under a 6/10 or a 7/10 that's enough to take note on if it's purchased, but most people get too focused on either specific scores and/or how they relate to other games. I would never focus on a single review at all, and even if you look at only a single review the actuall pro and cons are more important than the score. I mean, there is a review of Stellar Blade like this: + Combat is phenomenally fun and satisfying + Absolutely incredibly music and soundtrack + Stylish and slick animations - Exploration is often unintuitive and tedious - Re-used boss fights and encounters - Poor story - Two-dimensional characters Total score: 6/10 Duh. Action game with "phenomally fun Combat", "incredible soundtrack", "slick animation". 6/10 would be a close to a waste of time for me, not "phenomally fun". CARRRNE_ASADA posted... Its as if reviews are based upon the quality of the games design rather than the subject. Kinda like people complaining when nintendogs got 40/40 from Famitsu just cause it was a cute ds game. Honestly, I have a hard time to balance something like this myself. What's the scope for a full score? Being the best in the genre (with no flaws), or in a wider sense? With a 8/10 I would already say that it's a good game for fans of the genre, but wont be a hit for others. With a perfect score I would assume that it's a game able to reach and impress people even outside the genre. And now we have Nintendogs in the center of all of it. --- Planning is the process of replacing chance with error. ... Copied to Clipboard!
