Again, I think it'd be incredibly silly for anyone to actually adjust their politics in any way due to this. It's possible, but I think it's very unlikely. And if they do stay home, good for them. That's what I'll be doing, just like every other election year.

I think a lot of the why and how they did this ban are stupid, and there's really no guarantee that it's even going anywhere. I wish they'd just straight up banned it, along w/ pass sweeping legislation on data collection and algorithm based shit like that.

I actually have less issue with China having my information than the U.S. government. As a non-Chinese citizen, they have no power over me. They cant arrest me for thought crimes.

Because Biden is caught in a Catch 22 due to this being a poison pill in an Ukraine aid bill. If he vetoes it, Ukraine loses aid and he'll get criticized for that, and if he signs it, he'll get criticized by the Youth for the Tiktok ban that was inserted into it by some asshole House member.

Don't put this at the feet of Republicans. Democrats have been supporting going after Tiktok for a while now. This isn't just opps the Republicans put it in.

Why get mad at people for pointing out that Biden and Democrats also wanted this ban? It's something they've openly talked about for a long time now. They weren't forced into this. The ban was popular among elected Democrats when it stood on its own.

It's their fault for committing an own goal if it affects them negatively. The status quo would have cost them nothing considering they're fine with mass tech surveillance and brain melting when it's done by domestic companies.

I don't think this will have a big effect due to the built up hatred against Trump and the Republicans, but if it did, I wouldn't be surprised. This is one of THE most anti-youth things they could do.
