Imagine paying money to go to college when instead you could be making money washing dishes.

my parents gave me the choice of college or the streets

i told them i wasnt college material, they made me take out loans or face homelessness

i spent several years failing out of college and am now tens of thousands in debt

shoulda just hit the streets man

Ah, sorry about that. My dad was the opposite, he didn't seem to give a shit what I did but he was pretty supportive when I needed it. Other than emptying like $25k out of my bank account one time.

The university and state paid me to go to college.

I went and got a degree in the arts, and now all I have is this lousy career in the arts to show for it

I dropped out of sixth form. Was genuinely the best decision of my life. I wanted to learn vocationally (read: working with my hands, rather than reading in a textbook).

It's done me very well over the years although I will say that school did help more than I expected.

If anybody is thinking of doing the same then make sure you have a very solid plan.
