As with many FFs, don't be afraid to check guides for specific things (maybe puzzles, weapon or boss info).

Around Mt. Gagazet is usually where I find the game feels like a bit of a slog and I get a bit bored, so do what you can to push through that section

I think the only missable key items are some Al Bhed primers in the desert area.

If you have one of those turbo controllers you can break the game very easily on the ship to Kilika.

Nice. I recently replayed FFX for the first time in probably almost 20 years. It's still fun. I did some of the optional stuff I hadn't done before like getting the Magus Sisters. I thought I was going to do all the optional stuff but there were several things I gave up on because they were too much of a slog.

Grab the item from the dogs mouth before you leave Besaid on the ship (but after everything else)

Grab the chest from the Yunalesca boss room ASAP

Both of these get locked off late game. (I guess Shiva shrine too but there isnt much in there)
