More like it's literally feeding into a possible psychological agenda in manipulatively making CE self-destruct.

It's just another childish attempt to get some attention. It's weird. If you're going to leave then just do it.

Think back to those people who say they're leaving the country because their candidate didn't win, but they never did. Same thing.

I wish people wouldn't give up. They are hastening the end for those of us who want to stay

Every time I've thought about leaving in the past my weak ass brings me back here eventually. Closing the account and being locked out is a pretty definitive way of finally being done with this place

cuz CE is like somebody's memory of a message board, and the memory's fading.

I'm honestly thinking about leaving due to the ridiculousness of the new rules, along with the fact that I already have wasted too much time on this place and could be doing something better with my time.

I probably would have left eventually, but the new rules are making everything here so much more miserable and less fun. Not as much reason to stay tbh.

As the situation devolved, both DToast and another admin began handling the situation worse and worse.

Following the announcement, they made a feedback thread.

Feedback was overwhelmingly negative. Common criticisms were that the new rules were undefined, "politics" being so vague as to be impossible to ban, the politics ban adversely affecting LGBTQ+ posters, the breakup of extant social communities on other boards, and of course the slow-death-by-a-thousand-cuts for CE.

After 450 posts of everybody except STEROLIZER condemning the changes with no reply, the other admin ("Timmy" something) came back and said "we anticipated feedback to the change will be largely negative. However, we will not be revisiting the change."

They then opened a second feedback thread. When basically every post called them out for making a "feedback" thread that was confirmed by the admins to basically be a suggestion box connected to a paper shredder, DToast made a few flailing attempts to say he was taking notes to "reevaluate the situation in the future." He said that everyone accusing Fandom of not listening/caring were "bad faith posters."

Then Timmy-whoever came back and said they will absolutely not be reevaluating the situation in the future.

When accused of giving CE a death sentence, DToast said that CE will be fine because "68,000+ users can access it today." Everybody pointed and laughed at him.

When told CE was sentenced to a slow death just like LUE was, DToast said "no." No explanation, just "no."

When asked whether the site will ever see anything NEW added instead of just getting features cut and more ads thrown in, DToast said "it would be cool" (exact words) to get FAQ bounties of up to $300,000 (!!!). Everybody pointed and laughed at the absurdity of that non-promise.

400 posts into the second fake-feedback topic, after being HEAVILY pushed, both admins all-but-confirmed that CE was being punished for all the emails, doxxing, death threats, and nonsense that Tails and friends have been sending Fandom from the subreddit.

Seeing the writing on the walls, they apparently decided to NOT make a 3rd fake-feedback topic.

A day or two later, a thread cropped up on CE accusing Fandom of doing nothing but cutting/restricting features and putting in ads. DToast came in and promised he would DM the TC a document that day detailing some future plans for new features for the site. He then disappeared for days before sending a PM about one of their experiments that Fandom do. He blamed the delay on a vacation and a fried GPU.
The PM basically said that they tried to crosslink some popular guides with Fandoms wikis.
Why he couldnt just say it instead of sending a PM is because the topic had multiple bad faith users, he did however have nothing against TC sharing it.
And then he closed two topics talking about the announcement.

Topics are being hit for hornyposting all over the site, some for posting Nirvana lyrics, others for posting pictures of Zuckerberg.

some people hate rules. some people hate change. some people can't stop their bad habits. some people just get bored. some people want chaos. some people think they're entitled. some people etc etc

Hey, we got to agree on something before the end.

I'm not going to do a dramatic 'I'm leaving!', but interest and engagement will decline. This feels like being shoved somewhere where you can't bother the regular people.

The funny thing about that, which I sadly didn't remember to take a screenshot of, was seeing Fandom load an ad with Britney Spears doing handbra. It was probably something AI generated, but the irony of 'no horny!' as a policy paired with a topless woman appearing in an ad would have been worth a sensible chuckle.

Going out on their own terms rather than when they fully shutdown the boards.

Because one of them successfully doxxed DToast on his first day and set the mood. So it's partially personal, probably.

Plus, Fandom doesn't actually care that they're perpetually-banned at best, unaffiliated to with the site at worst; they're technically "spawned" by the community, and therefore adjacent enough to warrant it.

One of them also bought a banner celebrating the death of 261.

It really is disturbing. When I was a mod, every mew Tails alt meant another "friend request." I've been doxxed offsite more than once. Theyve truly got a sad, pathetic community of fucked up people with nothing else going on in their lives.

People are mad that innocuous topics like Nirvana lyrics and Jeff telling a story about Kate Hudson with no pics were suspension worthy, but posting a pic of Billie Eilish doing an eating motion in front of someone's ass cheeks is fine. There's no consistency with what's hornyposting and what isn't.
