Like the glass bottles they sell in the chip isle vs the can frito dip. Which one is your ultimate favorite of the 2?

Between those two specific choices I'd go with bean dip. Partly because it doesn't make me feel quite as disgusting afterwards.

I think both are nasty. That "cheese" reminds me of nacho cheese sauce which I think is disgusting compared to eating actual melted real cheese.

As for the bean dip I think it tastes funny and is too salty. I'd rather just open a can of refried beans and use that.

Funny you make this topic though and give these options because sometimes late at night for a super quick snack I'll heat up some refried beans and melt some real cheese over them and then eat it with some tortilla chips.

i'll help you.

i voted for cheese dip anyway. canned refried bean is cheaper than a small can of bean dip.

would be nice if canned refried bean went on sale this week (really need to stock up on it).

That stuff is pure unadulterated trash. You want real dips? They're easy AF.

Mexican Queso
  • White or yellow American cheese (Yes believe it or not, they're using American cheese)
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • milk
Simply throw a stack of murcan slices (based off however much you want) in a pot with some red pepper flakes or fry some diced jalapenos in oil, mix in milk slowly over time till you reach the desired thickness, keeping in mind it will thicken when it cools down. BAM instant restaurant level queso. Theres so many binding agents in the cheese that no flour or corn starch is needed.

Chili Cream Cheese dip
  • 8oz Cream Cheese
  • Can of Chili
  • Cheddar and/or American cheese
  • Chilli Powder, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder
Spread the softened cream cheese on the bottom of a glass baking dish, pour a can of chili over that, lightly season with spices, cover with top entirely with cheese and throw in the oven until cheese nice and melty. Serve with Tortilla chips.

French Onion dip
  • 16oz Sour Cream
  • French Onion Soup mix
  • Potato Chips
Just mix in the French Onion Soup mix til the flavor is strong enough, an entire packet is too much. But its that easy, easiest dip in this post.
