Truly a fantastic author. Discworld is a fantastic world and I'll be forever said we wont see more Vimes grumping, incompetent wizards and the list is too long :(

Only recently read his last book with Tiffany and had a good cry by the end.

I usually take a sequence guide

Something like this, and while I have started at the top and worked my way to the right before descending, my current preference is to start at the top and go *down*, and then move right and go back to the top. The gestalt world makes a little more sense that way, even if the individual stories risk becoming more jumbled.

I have seen some folks say to start with Guards! Guards! or Sourcery, citing that PTerry was still feeling his way with Colour, but I don't know what they're talking about.

I do kinda agree with them. I've had a few friends put off when reading the rincewind novels but eventually fall in love after reading stuff with Vimes in it

I wish I could've read these when I was younger and still had my child sense of wonder, instead of certain other magic books that now make me fucking hate myself.

I've just finished Interesting Times, but ye I can see why people recommend starting at Guards series. While it has its fantasy & whatnot, it is more grounded & deals more mature themes. Men-at-Arms really shows this off.
