I usually take a sequence guide https://www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/the-discworld-reading-order-guide-20.jpg Something like this, and while I have started at the top and worked my way to the right before descending, my current preference is to start at the top and go down, and then move right and go back to the top. The gestalt world makes a little more sense that way, even if the individual stories risk becoming more jumbled. I have seen some folks say to start with Guards!
