because you feel like such a burden to others and you feel bad that people have to take the time out of their busy schedules to make time for you. and you feel even worse when you can't provide a good time or make excellent conversation. sometimes you feel like it would be best if you just kept to yourself for the rest of your life so that way you would never be a bother to anyone. You fear rejection. You're afraid of hosting a birthday party because you're afraid no one will show up.

when i wasn't a neet and post-hs ofc: i'd just wait to get invited to stuff. it happened frequently during some periods. eventually i started to decline because i got addicted to runescape. received fewer invites to things since they thought i was too busy haha. just realized that i never invited people myself to do what i want to do. o_O that never came up in my mind tbh. im sure i could do it someday once i have friends again and am productive lol. runescape isn't why i lack friends anymore btw i just moved to a diff state and barely done shit since then --- I'm a Taurus. I've been bowling in 2 leagues every week for decades, so those are kinda guaranteed. But other than that, most of my "hanging out" is online, chatting in Discord and playing games together. I don't really feel the need to invite people around IRL because everyone I want to see is either at the bowling alley or living in another time zone.
