I beat StarCraft a few years ago and the game was too hard imo. I was intimidated by Brood War so never finished it. Also beat Warcraft 1 and 2 and they were also difficult.
Warcraft 3 on normal is a breath of fresh air so far. I'm actually having fun and the game doesn't punish you as much for taking your time like the other ones do.

Yea, I beat Warcraft 3 (and it's expansion) pretty easily. I could never get through WC 1 due to the completely unfriendly user interface. If any game needs an enhanced edition, it is that. Also beat WC2, BtdP, and SC 1. Brood War I got up to Zerg mission 3 or 4 and basically had to cheat the rest of the way through. Never went back to beat it legit.

Bro the game is still very active online you should install it. I see tons of games like that going on custom games.

What about StarCraft 2?
I plan to go through that one as well. Hopefully by Warcraft 3 Blizz realized these games weren't accessible enough to all players so they toned down the difficulty.

Played Wings of Liberty (the free campaign), never bought the other 2 campaigns. Wings of Liberty is basically as easy as Warcraft 3, although it has been several years so I can't comment on comparing the two that closely.

Warcraft 3 was my favorite game in my youth. I wish I could experience it for the first time again. Congrats

The campaign of Warcraft 3 is very easy. I beat it on normal no problem.
It's the regular game that's hard. I can't even beat the computer on easy in a 1v1. There's just so much micromanagement involved.

Really? Sounds like you need to learn yourself some huntress rush

Building and attacking are enough to worry about, creeping and hero leveling just adds too much to the formula for me.

this is is almost word for word my experience. although I might have used cheats for the protoss missions in SC1, and I don't think I made it very far in WC2:BtDP.

sc2 isn't really hard tbh. it's pretty satisfying tho

i should go back and try to do some campaign missions now that i sorta know how to play the game

IIRC it's relatively easy on normal but quite a bit more challenging on hard. I sailed through it on normal but made very slow progress on hard. (man that was so long ago now already...)

SC2 has a great campaign. The challenge is extremely variable depending on the difficulty you choose and which achievements you go for, so virtually everyone can find a comfortable level to play it on.
