World building, characters and relationships, the concept of the Jedi order, republic, theming and all that jazz are all extremely interesting.

It's on the micro level that everything was ruined. Bad dialogue (which in turn affected the acting), over-reliance on CGI, and Jar Jar prevented the series from reaching its potential.

It's because of the prequels we got great side series like The Clone Wars series (All of them) or Bad Batch.

If you ignore the plot and the dialogue and the way the movies look, they're perfect!

Why do people in the original trilogy treat the Jedi like they were some kind of long-dead ancient religion or just a story that wasn't even real if the prequel trilogy establishes that not only were they active only 20-ish years ago, but were also a huge military and political presence that was impossible to ignore

Probably from the fact that most people probably dont interact with the Jedi too much and 20-30 years of propaganda demystified them since they were branded traitors to the Republic/Empire

Lol you're not making a bad point. I'd argue the plot itself was still pretty good, though. That would be a macro, though.

True. Stuff like this happens in real life (Nazi Germany) and in other fictional works like Game of Thrones, too.

Yeah, I've felt this way for a long time. The concept of the prequel trilogy is amazing. Take out all the weird dialog and a couple of awful writing decisions, and there's a lot to love.

I probably like them more than the originals tbh
