Final boss is weak as shit and the game is too short. But as an arcade score-attack experience and a work of art it's one-of-a-kind.

Journey of Dreams is a 7

The pinball board from Sonic Adventure is a 6

The Shockwave minigame from the old Sega website is a 5

It's one of my favorite games.

It really is a one of a kind.

I love it!!

Being forced to fight a boss right after completing a level so you had to start all over at the beginning of the level if you died made the game more frustrating than it needed to be.

The lack of tutorial on how to play the game also didn't help matters. It's fun once you figure what you're supposed to do and memorize the levels so you can focus on beating your high score but it takes too long for the game to click with you. A sequel refining the gameplay and making it easier for beginners would have been appreciated, although it wasn't really necessary for there to be another Nights. Journey of Dreams was booty.

Games weren't shy about kicking you ass back then, it was just a thing.

But ya, to this day, I don't understand the little lumies are w/e they are called thing.

Still, I have gotten the good ending, which is quite heart warming.

Its really confusing at first, but once it clicks, its really a good score attack game.

The Nightopians? Yeah, I never understood how that shit worked. Apparently, they're the precursor to the Chao in Sonic Adventure but I don't even understand how you even interact with them in Nights into Dreams. They're more like Chao in Journey of Dreams, though.

I never quite figured it out.

I didn't know they we precursors to Chao though.

It's worth it for the Music Alone!

10/10 for me. The gameplay and music was top tier.

I played it years ago. In my late teens or early 20s. I remember it was on an actual Saturn.

I don't remember enough to really say I could rate it fairly.

That was a beast! Had it, too! Bought a lot of cheap Saturn and Dreamcast stuff off a friend who was "no longer into gaming" when we graduated High school.

Sadly, I sold most of my collection later on for the same reasons. Le sigh.

Building it back up again slowly since 2020!

If you blast a baddy into them they lay an egg, which hatches into a Nightopian which has some of that buddy's physical characteristics.

Fun back in the day, but frustrating when they then decided to get themselves killed.

They are all great tracks!
I mean Sega always brought it when it came to music.

But I might bet back to this.
