The thing that bothers me the most about crime dramas is when people get questioned by detectives about a murder and continue nonchalantly working and act like this is an everyday occurrence in their lives and they are being inconvenienced from doing their menial jobs

yea, it has been overused for a while.

I like how it's used in Psych, though, which is mostly a comedy and they have fun with the concept.

iZombie. Girl assumes the personality/memories of people she eats.
Chew. Detective that inherits the memories of anything he eats (diapers to find missing children, blood of a security officer to get a password, etc)

I love that shit. Like in law and order Criminal Intent, Goren was an insanely good analyst and profiler. He was super compelling to watch.

I also love supernatural or superpower gimmicks, too. Like Vibe from The Flash, who could get bits and pieces of what happened and where the perpetrators were at the present time.

it bothers me when there's tech on scene gathering evidence then the main character walks in tells everyone to leave so they can do their "analyze crime scene" ability. Tech are there just to do their job and gather evidence they can analyze and be used for a case.

I hate when someone uses a computer and they do everything with the keyboard by typing furiously. No mouse or even a touchpad.

I recommend iZombie. Main character becomes a zombie, but zombies in that world retain their intelligence and don't rot so long as they eat human brains. The downside is that when you eat a brain, you take on some of their personality traits and get flashes of their memories. So after taking a job in a coroner's office, she starts eating the brains of murder victims and helps solve the murders.

But it's a comedy because she's also temporarily copying their personality. So in one episode, she eats a painter and becomes artistic (and horny). The next she eats a hitman and starts to become detached and vicious. That kind of thing.

I like prime Robert Goren: the quirky analyses, the "Goren lean", the book smarts mixed with street smarts. As time goes on, and Goren seems to know everything about everything, the formula does wear a tad thin, but for those first 3-5 seasons...man, Criminal Intent kicked ass. Probably surpassed the OG Law & Order at times, though CI didn't have the consistency in the long run.

Honestly, in another timeline, Criminal Intent and SVU would have swapped longevity, praise and cultural impact. If I ever find a Farscape wormhole, that's the timeline I'm going to.

Very good in Law and Order

real life interrogation would be 3-6 hours in a small room . I hate how in crime dramas the suspect is given so much power in an interrogation.

I don't generally mind it too much. I really enjoyed Psych and Monk back in the day. Never watched The Mentalist or whatever, but the idea didn't bother me.

Though there's one that does. Dad leaves the TV on a specific channel and one called Unforgettable plays sometimes. I find that character very obnoxious over her perfect memory, and the writing and acting aren't great. So, it's kinda soured me on the idea a bit.
