But still this is on par or exceeds what I expected from early access. The way people think it works is that she starts in one region and will move downwards every 3 nights or maybe after certain story milestones get reached. If she's gone from the fourth region, she probably won't appear anymore? I don't know if it's bad design per se, it's clearly trying to solve an issue the first game had where it was very easy to sequence break a lot of the dialogue progression. It makes sense as a solve to me but I didn't get hit with it hard, if you are really good at the game it's gonna be way more frustrating. The game is full of stuff meant to drag out progression and it's been hit or miss for me. I'm personally very annoyed by how resource gathering works - only being able to choose between one type of tool (that's only slightly mitigated by ~~animal companions~~ which take forever to unlock) slows upgrade progression down SO much. Not sure if that was automatic or just by virtue of doing the Forgot-Me-Not option, I basically F-M-N everything I come across now, lol. from seeds found in Chaos. Good news is I found a dirt pile in there on my 1st visit so it's not as rare as I'd fear it'd be (i.e. Hades 1 fish in Chaos realm) but maybe I just got lucky. Chaos also gave me a free seed but that didn't help since you need 2 plants for the incantation anyways. So yeah... start up a new run with the spade and cross your fingers I guess. The normal attack is fairly worthless but with charge attacks it's a weird hybrid of the rail gun special + shield special. I don't think it's weak but the playatyle is super weird and makes it hard to go all-in on one thing. Still like them more than the wands... I also wonder if some of the weapons just need to be fully upgraded to be good. Was close a few times before but every time I felt like I just had a build on life support and didn't feel confident at all. This time I actually had something I was pleased with, and lo and behold, got the win with it. Sister Blades with Pan Aspect is exactly the type of fight style I enjoy and the first time I tried it, it got me the win. Like, using special as your primary fire and having an Omega Special orbiting you while you are charging up the attack. I messed around with the aspect that makes the attack charged shots linger and detonate when hit with the special, special is more useful than it seems and the detonations were strong so I see the vision but it still felt clumsy to play. It might just be bad boon synergy but most of my builds come down to Omega Spam except on the axe and knives (even then, knife special is worthless outside of the omega and axe omegas are really good). The exception has been a couple runs where I can get a really good "prime" ability - like the Zeus prime for chain lightning combined with a staff buff that removed omega attack for rapid fire - but most of the time I don't think priming is worth the hit to MP. I messed around with the aspect that makes the attack charged shots linger and detonate when hit with the special, special is more useful than it seems and the detonations were strong so I see the vision but it still felt clumsy to play.It might just be bad boon synergy but most of my builds come down to Omega Spam except on the axe and knives (even then, knife special is worthless outside of the omega and axe omegas are really good). The exception has been a couple runs where I can get a really good "prime" ability - like the Zeus prime for chain lightning combined with a staff buff that removed omega attack for rapid fire - but most of the time I don't think priming is worth the hit to MP. I'd still say it's worth not dying on purpose since there's still resources you can obtain in that 4th area (or 3rd area if she tags you with it at the beginning of there) but yeah... probably quicker and more worth your time to bail. For when it stops, I at least have the record now on when it happened for me. Nights 3, 5 through 8 and 10. Run 1 died to Hecate, almost had her though Run 2 and 3 died to the ~~sirens~~ Run 4 and 5 died to ~~Infernal Beast~~ and that fight feels sooo rough I have gotten Eris every single run after the first. I beat Hades OG for the first time on run 7 so this definitely feels a bit harder. On the other hand that was definitely a fluke and I needed about another 7 runs to be able to win consistently. Struggling with the weapons, as others have said. I need an equivalent of the bow from the first game, where it's insanely strong and super long range and kills everything and has practically zero flaws. It's called balance. Feels like a loophole that should get patched out but I'll take it.
