You'd have to really go out of your way to find those. I type in "Drake" on Google and I have to click on "More search results" multiple times before I start getting different Drake's coming up.

but obviously he was not the drake currently being discussed constantly

so i had no idea who he was

more time was spent bitching about me asking

than it would have taken to just explain the situation

Drake is a music guy who's been engaged in a bickering contest with another musician for a while now. For people who follow that genre, it's been a pretty big deal.

Drake first broke into the mainstream in 2009. By 2010, he was one of the biggest rappers in the world.

From that point on, he kept getting bigger until he plateaued by the start of the 2020s. Nonetheless, he's still very popular. If you don't know who he is by now, then you've been living under a rock for 14 years now.

But to answer you, since you're still asking. Drake is a Canadian born rapper that has been huge globally for years now. He has 13 albums that reached number 1 on the charts. And billboard has him listed as the 2nd most popular artist in the world, behind Taylor Swift. At one point, Drake was even the most streamed artist on Spotify, but now he's 5th.

So it's bizarre for anyone to say they don't know who he is.
