Money and dwindling goodwill. Between Patrick Kennedy losing his primary challenge and RFK Jr being a douchebag moron, seems like that brand has finally and thankfully worn out.

Access to the halls of power and the resources necessary to get there (money, name recognition) are not equally distributed. That's been the case since the founding of the country. The first 10 Presidents were basically just Virginia planter aristocrats and within the first 50 years, we already had the son of a President elected as President. That's just how power works.
