I didnt. The only reason I said that was because earlier in the topic when I said who cares if tails is back she/her told me to close my account. Then I saw she/her was talking about it being his last day here so I said the same to she/her

They just had no plan at all and the execution has been terrible.

I feel like the decision on CE was made by a single person, possibly DToast, to meet some externally imposed metric. It was not thought out as evidenced by the inconsistent messages that followed the announcement, and the TOU not being updated to match it. It also wasnt discussed among the team and likely wasnt communicated well as multiple posts by some moderators questioning or joking about it suggest.

It now also seems like there are inconsistent rules being applied to the community. What happened today with this account and the moderation posted in here (essentially moderated because I feel like it) is really not leaving a good impression of whats to come.

For someone that is supposed to help the community of this site, it seems like a good time to step up and do more. Even if it isnt exactly what the community wants, just be transparent about whats going on. Update the TOU and use them fairly. Tell us whats going on. Be transparent.

I feel like DToast is gonna end up getting shitcanned because of all the gross incompetence displayed here this year. As one user said in that topic: its past incompetence; its just malice

Right, so did you even bother to read the full context of the post they were quoting? They were saying if greenmist came back that would be their last day on CE, not that today in general was.

Yeah, maybe. I think it is ultimately going to kill a lot of the traffic to the boards but maybe that was the goal - a slow death so they can shop the site around while it still had some traffic and doesnt look as toxic.

I dont know how it really happened and am just guessing based on experience. I manage over 200 people and most mistakes are ok, its how they are handled after that speaks to the employee and whether or not that will last in the organization.
