Yes. The full press conference with the uncut body cam footage is on YouTube. Everything you said is in the footage, I'll give a full narrative for those that don't want to watch it.

The officer arrives and hears the story from the woman who called 911. She says when she walks by she usually hears fighting but this time it was getting out of hand, and she couldn't tell where it came from. She tells the officer the room number and he goes to the 4th floor at the very end of the hallway.

The officer knocks without saying anything, steps 5 feet to the right out of sight, waits 10 seconds, knocks again and says who they are, then moves again. They knock and say who they are a third time, then the door opens slowly. The victim is holding a pistol limply by his side. Once it's fully open (about 3 seconds) the officer says to step back and immediately shoots 6 times and the victim falls to the floor, then the officer says to drop the weapon. He calls on the radio that shots were fired and requests the EMTs.

I started another topic about this because the victim was merely playing video games in his own home.

Man, the bodycam is bad.

A Karen gives info that makes it seem like a Domestic Violence issue just happened, Cop knocks on the door violently without identifying himself then HIDES from the peephole. He finally identifies himself and the Airmen peacefully comes to the door with his gun pointed down and is immediately shot by the officer. Not posting the video.

Cop should have waited for back up and this sounds like a case of swatting. Info I'm reading is that the guy lived alone and the argument the Karen heard was actually a phone conversation.

Sad because the Airmen was just about to get promoted

Everything is bad on this, and this cop will likely walk free. The reason being the exposed gun and they going argue he was at risk.

From my experiences dealing with police in your own home , I can always recommend:
Be naked or in you underwear
*100% not joking

I seriously wonder how these people escape violent reprisals from their victim's family. Like it happens so often. It just goes to show how much better the average person is then a cop

Simple: fear of reprisal from the cops. Police are known to circle the wagons and laser-target anyone who kills one of their number, even if the dead one was the most corrupt and criminal cop to ever live, and they are afforded a great deal of legal protection from the consequences of their actions on a normal day. Chances are, even killing a cop in self-defense, even if the officer's target was otherwise completely innocent, would see law enforcement lose any restraint they might have had in destroying them.

remember when plainclothes cops broke into breonna taylor's apartment at midnight with a no knock warrant, so her boyfriend fired a warning shot not knowing they were cops, and they unloaded 32 rounds willy nilly in his general direction, killed her, and then didn't even execute the search warrant, but charged him with attempted murder of a police officer because a cop got shot in the leg, possibly by one of his fellow cops?

Also the officer that did this while drunk is getting off on parole this year.

I used to live in those apartments. Poor guy was killed for no fucking reason. I hope that cop ends up in jail.

cops should have liability insurance and being a cop should require a bachelor's degree in anything. fucking art history or psychology or something my god.

All police related lawsuits should come directly from their pension funds.

Tax payers shouldn't foot the bill for bad cops.

yup, or they should be required to carry personal liability insurance, similar to doctors.
