It was a cat. An incredible, and fluffy, creature.

I saw either a cat or dog got hit by a car once. It was at night so I couldnt really tell, but its yell was absolutely haunting, and I remember it struggling to crawl on the ground. As soon as I was heading that way to see if I could rescue it another car crushed it and I couldnt bare to go look at the results.

Still scarred me as a grown ass man with not real love for pets

No idea, she was missing and one of the people working on the roof saw a black and white cat being loaded up by animal control.

We've got 3 rescue's at home and I'd be broken if anything happened to any of them. The last time I cried was when our first cat died suddenly out of nowhere when we'd just moved house. Lost elderly relatives and friends but the cat going was the only one that made me ugly cry.

We'd been in our first house for less than 48 hours and it was the first time he came downstairs on his own. He sat on my wives knee purring away and the next thing he's gone. Vet reckoned some sort of heart issue or an brain aneurism. He was only 4 ffs. So I get how devastating it can be.

I know it's implied but just thought I'd be the one to ask as no one else has. Assuming the cat didn't make it? If so I'm so sorry. At least with traffic accidents it's usually an instant death so shitty as it is there's a small solace in that and at least you know what happened. I know you don't want to hear it now but there are plenty of rescue cats out there who need a good home and hopefully in the near future you'll be in the right mindset to look after another little bundle of joy. Sounds like you still have a lot of love to give.

if i had more of an income i would adopt another one. it's very unstable right now.

it's a surprise i somehow managed to keep that dog for 13 years despite risks of not being able to keep her twice.

She had three good and comfortable years, even if she should have had so many more.

Damn she looks like a previous cat I had named Lily. Well, she was my wife's cat when she was 15, but her mom gave her away (long story, shitty mom). Eventually we moved out and took her in when she was 17 and she was nearly 19 when mouth cancer got her.

That sucks, sorry about your cat. There's so much that can go wrong if our pets get outside.

It's kind of amazing to me that cats get hit by cars at all as fast as their reflexes are.

This is the thing to focus on. You gave her a good home and lots of love.

My parents lost a cat (also named Calvin, weird) about two weeks ago. He either had a stroke or aneurysm, was the vet's guess. He was only 7. He was playing in the kitchen while dad was cleaning and just dropped. The worst part is they were going on vacation the next day. They still went, but it was basically ruined. And Hobbes (Calvin's brother) spent all day looking for his brother.

Back in March my late husband's parents had to put down our Klee Kai, Aurora. The husband and I got her as a puppy, and he passed shortly later. His parents and I shared her for a while, then around 2019 they got another dog and Aurora stopped enjoying coming to my house because she missed her friend too much. Then covid and social distancing kept us from trading the dog at all and she stayed with them full time after that. She was barely 10.

Bad year for pets. I have a senior cat I worry about.
