I have a PS5 and Switch and I've had to buy multiple controllers for both due to issues.

Stick Drifting and Buttons Getting Stuck.

While my SNES and PS1 controllers are still going strong almost 3 decades on.

It wouldn't be such an issue if they weren't so bloody expensive.

That's by design unfortunately. We have the technology to prevent stick drift. But then you won't need to buy extra controllers outside of co-op play or wanting a specific controller for collector purposes.

This and the companies dont manufacture certain parts so its likely when the parts for joysticks were bought (in bulk no less) that company that makes them cheapened out.

Tell me about it! I have had controllers go on me after barely 2 weeks of use.

Controllers these days are just cheaply made junk designed to make you part with your money every couple of weeks or so.

Nice to see I am not alone with the problem.

I'm almost positive the shoulder buttons on the Series X controllers are designed to fail. There's a piece of plastic in there that snaps and ruins the whole button if you press it too hard, this didnt happen on the old controllers because that piece was made out of metal

The controller that came with my Series S developed some stick drift, but Microsoft sent me a replacement without even requiring me to send the original one back. That replacement and 3 other Series S/X controllers are still working perfectly.

I've managed to avoid drift issues with my joycons, though I know I'm probably lucky there. My Switch Pro controller has also been working perfectly.

I've been seriously considering getting an Elite, have you used it much so far? Anything that immediately stands out?

Haven't had a controller issue since gamecube days tbh.

Well, I did buy a scuf once that started having non-responsive buttons (outside of the warranty of course). Never gonna drop that much for a controller again

The PS5 controller is phenomenal outside of the battery life, and I have a charging station that makes that moot. I bought a second controller but only because I wanted purple.

I went through way more PS3 and PS4 controllers.

It's because Mad Catz isn't around to absorb all of the bad controller focus.
