He almost took down the Emperor on his own. My question is why didnt this particular Jedi take another shot at it at any point over 20 years instead of just waiting for Luke to come along? That doubt wouldve been his fall against Sidious tbh yoda needed to become crazed in Degobah. Jedi were hunted and turned to the darkside with the Inquisitors. That had to impact him in such a way that yeah, he wouldve lost his mind. But yoda endured and had faith in the force despite everything. mace windu did some damage to Sidious but Sidious beating the best jedi had with Mace and Yoda then turning Anakin to the darkside. For starters we dont know if Yoda was even good to continue the fight and if Sidious got back up then Yoda would need to deal with him and any troops. Plus there could be an argument that after that initial duel that there would be more security.
